Nona F. Mount, age 86, of Spokane, Washington, and formerly of Carroll and Lanesboro passed away at Clare Bridge Care Center in Spokane on Sunday, September 14, 2014.
A funeral service will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, September 25, 2014 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Pastor David Schaal of Carroll First Assembly of God Church officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. A graveside service and burial will be in the Lanesboro Cemetery following the funeral.
Nona was born on September 13, 1928 in Calhoun County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Herbert and Ethel (Ridenour) Shoemaker. As a young girl she attended and graduated from Lanesboro High School. Nona married the love of her life James Mount on June 19, 1947 at the Methodist Parsonage in Lanesboro. Nona and Jim were members of the First Assembly of God Church in Carroll. She was a homemaker and devoted wife and mother. In her spare time Nona enjoyed hunting elk and deer with Jim, digging clams with her family, showing Appaloosa horses up and down the west coast and visiting with her friends in the coffee shop.
Nona is survived by her three sons: James Herbert Mount of Spokane, WA, Nicholas Neal Mount and his wife Verna Lee of Moses Lake, WA, and Martin Eugene Mount of Everett, WA; two daughters: Shelley Renee Sargur and her husband Mukand of Kirkland, WA and Vanessa Kaye Young and her husband Geary of Valley, WA; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren. Nona was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Jim.
