Mildred Louise Heuton

Mildred Louise Heuton, age 87, of Grimes, formerly of Glidden passed away on May 11th 2010 at Mercy Hospice in Johnston Iowa. Visitation will be held on Thursday May 13th from 5 to 8 p.m. with a prayer service at 7 p.m. at Dahn and Woodhouse funeral home in Carroll Iowa. Funeral services will be held Friday at 10:30 am at St John’s Lutheran Church in Carroll. She was born on December 4th, 1922 in Carroll, Iowa, the daughter of Edward & Anna Hunt. She graduated from Lohrville High School. While in grade school she met the love of her life, Arnold W. Heuton and they were married for over 65 years before he passed away in 2009. They farmed their whole life in Glidden Iowa where they raised a son and daughter. Mildred was active in her church, ladies clubs, card clubs, and enjoyed gardening. Many will remember her for her years of working at her son’s restaurant, Mr D’s, and creating her famous potato salad and bread pudding. The center of her life was her faith and family. Mildred was preceded in death by her husband Arnold, her sister Doreen Zacharias, sisters-in-law Donna Hunt, Eva Heuton and brother-in-law Virgil Heuton. She will be greatly missed by her children, Dennis (Karen) of Grimes, Diane (Gene) Loffredo of West Des Moines, 6 grandchildren, Holly (Jett) , Carroll, Joey (Craig) Plummer, West Des Moines, Kelly (Chris) Conner, Jefferson, Matt (Shelly) Heuton of Grimes, Nick Loffredo of West Des Moines and Brian Loffredo of Milwaukee Wisconsin and 10 great-grandchildren, Trevor, Lindsey, Taylor, Tory, Crew, Riley, Grace, Gabbi, Kenzie, & Lexi. The family would like to thank Dr Deborah Turner, Debra Schnoor ARNP and the nurses on 8th south at Mercy Hospital in Des Moines and Mercy Hospice for their wonderful care of Mildred during her valiant battle with cancer.
