Michael George McNaught, age 59, of Meriden, Kansas, and formerly of Glidden passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2009 at the Veteran’s Administration Nursing Home in Topeka, Kansas due to esophageal cancer with his family at his side.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M., on Monday, December 21, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Glidden with Rev. Jessica Rockhold officiating. Visitation will be held from 9AM until the time of service at the church. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden with military honors.

Born on January 2, 1950 at Des Moines, Iowa he was the son of Garner and Jean (Sebern) Mc Naught. Mike grew up in Glidden and graduated from Glidden – Ralston High School in 1968. He attended Iowa State University and then enlisted in the United States Coast Guard and served over 28 years. In the Coast Guard, he graduated from Telephone Technician School on Governor’s Island, NY and served on the cutter Hamilton and several telephone shops on the East Coast. He then became an Electronics Warrant Officer specializing in LORAN communications and was stationed at LORAN Station Iwo Jima, several West Coast units – including Commanding Officer of LORAN Station Middletown, CA – before retiring in 1998.
He married to Lorrelle Setzer on May 9, 1985 at Santa Ana, Calfornia. Surviving are his wife Lori of Meriden, Kansas; a daughter Jennifer McNaught of Smithtown, New York; his mother Jean McNaught of Glidden; a son Christopher McNaught Carle Place, New York; a daughter Courtney McNaught of Woodside, New York; a brother Harley McNaught of San Antonio, Texas; and a sister-in-law Dawn Setzer of Glendale, California. He was preceded in death by his father Garner McNaught.
