Maxine S. Namanny

Maxine Sophie Ida Namanny, age 88, of Glidden passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids. Born on January 28, 1921 at Denison, Iowa, she was the daughter of LeRoy and Anna (Boger) Koch. She grew up in Denison where she attended school. She was married to Herbert Namanny on October 1, 1940. The couple farmed near Westside, Roselle, and Ralston, and moved to Glidden in 1970. Maxine was a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden and the American Legion Auxiliary. In her spare time she enjoyed Bingo, cooking, cards, quilting, crocheting, travel, and flowers. Surviving are a son Larry Namanny and his wife Linda of Weed, California; a son James Namanny and his wife Bonita “Pete” of Coon Rapids, Iowa; a daughter June Kuhlmann and her husband Byron of Ralston, Nebraska; a son Curtis Namanny and his wife Cindy of Brandon, Mississippi; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; a sister Betty Maasen of Manning; a brother Leonard Koch of Manning; a sister Shirley Walde and her husband Leonard of Westside; and a sister Jolene Meyer of Carroll. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sons Eugene and Randy, two brothers Dale and LeRoy Koch, a grandson Richie Namanny, and three granddaughters in infancy Annette, Anita, and Elizabeth Namanny. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, July 27, 2009 at Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden with Pastor Alan Miller officiating. Organist for the service will be Mrs. Beckey Miller and the congregation will sing. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden after 5:00 P.M. on Sunday where there will be a prayer service held at 7:00 P.M.. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Monday to lie in state until the time of service. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden. Casket bearers will be Lonny Namanny, Todd Pleggenkuhle, Joshua Namanny, Stephen Namanny, Joel Namanny, and Travis Kuhlmann.
