Maudie Ganoe

Maudie Nadine Ganoe, age 82, of Scranton, IA, passed away on Saturday, December 7, 2019 at the Greene County Medical Center in Jefferson.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, December 13, 2019 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton with Pastor Bob McKnight officiating.  Casket bearers will be Maudie’s grandchildren.  Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to the funeral service.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com

Born on July 14, 1937 on a farm near Scranton, IA, she was the daughter of James and Nadine (Steward) Spaulding.  She grew up in Scranton and was married to Phillip Charles Ganoe on December 31, 1961 at the Church of Christ in Scranton.  To this union four children were born: Phillip Jr., Julie, Timothy, and Randy.  She was a member of the Church of Christ in Scranton.  Maudie enjoyed shopping, watching soap operas, cooking, and listening to country music.

Maudie is survived by two children: Phillip Ganoe Jr. (Jolene) of Logan, IA, and Julie Ganoe of Monroe, LA; five grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two brothers: Jerry Spaulding (Ruth) of Jefferson and Frank Spaulding of Des Moines; and several nieces and nephews.

Maudie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Phillip, two sons: Timothy in infancy and Randy; brothers: Bill, Jimmy, Chris, and Norman; sisters: Lovola Bailey, Iola Bonnette, Eva Mae Gustoff, Rose Ann Huffman, and Mary Lou and Janet Spaulding in infancy.
