Mary Jane Drees, age 83, of Carroll, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, October 8, 2021 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll surrounded by her family.

Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Merlin Schrad as celebrant.  An honor guard will be formed by the Catholic Daughters.  Lector for the Mass will be Kenny Snyder.  Gift bearers will be Stacie Tonniges and Stephanie Hausman.  Casket bearers will be Josh Snyder, Justin Daisy, Clay Daisy, Wyatt Daisy, Kate Lohff, Krista Lohff, Brookelyn Bender, Domonik Markham, and Seth Beberniss.  Burial will be in the Holy Family Cemetery near Lidderdale.

Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5 - 7 P.M. on Tuesday evening.  The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Church at 10 A.M. on Wednesday where visitation will resume until 10:45 A.M.

Mary Jane was born to Clark and Dorothy (Schwering) Wood on October 7, 1938, in Fort Dodge, IA. She graduated from Fort Dodge Senior High School and was married to Raymond Edward Drees on January 24, 1959, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Fort Dodge. The couple lived on a farm near Lidderdale for many years. Mary Jane was a member of the Holy Spirit Parish and Catholic Daughters of the Americas.  She worked at New Hope Village in the activity department, owned and operated Mary Jane's Ceramics and worked 25 plus years at Walmart in the fabric department, cashier, and as greeter.

Mary Jane enjoyed finding treasures at garage sales or New Hope Bargain Store, traveling with her husband, playing cards with her two card groups, sewing, cooking, baking and going gambling, but, most importantly, spending time with her 5 children, 11 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many friends.

Mary Jane is survived by her children: Nancy Snyder (Kenny) of Carroll, IA, Becky Lohff of Carroll, IA, Tim Drees of Carroll, IA., Barbara Daisy of Carroll, IA and Cindy Drees of Denison, IA; 11 grandchildren: Josh Snyder, Stacie Tonniges (Matt), Stephanie Hausman (Jess), Katelyn Lohff, Krista Lohff, Brookelyn Bender, Justin Daisy, Clay Daisy, Wyatt Daisy, Seth Beberniss, and Domonik Markham, Great-grandchildren; Kenya Prescott, Easten Snyder, Hunter Tonniges, Fischer Tonniges, Emery Snyder and Leon Drees; sisters: Sharon Kolacia (John) of Fort Dodge, Betty Berning of Fort Dodge, IA and many nieces and nephews.

Mary Jane is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy and Clark Wood, her husband, Raymond Drees, daughter Lori, son in-law Don Daisy, and brother Ray Wood.
