Mary is survived by her husband William Jahn of rural Coon Rapids; a son William Jahn Jr. (Kendra); a grandson Charlie Jahn; a granddaughter Ruth Jahn; her siblings: Donna Varchola (George), brother Dave Bowman (Becky), sister Vicky Briley (Jordan), and sister Cheryl Wolfe (Ron); 11 nieces and nephews: Jennifer Bradley (Shawn), Eric Varchola, Dayon Kjellberg (Brent), Andria Cossolotto (Matt), Trent Bowman (Ellen), Sara Briley (fiancé Jessie Pridmore), Ryan Briley (Carly), Matthew Wolfe (Beibei) Steve Ramstedt (Cheryl), Greg Ramstedt, Kris Barr (Dave), and 18 great nieces and nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents Darlene and Gerald Bowman.
On the day Mary was born, she became a daughter, granddaughter, sister, niece and cousin. Her family roles grew over time to include aunt, sister-in-law, wife, daughter-in-law, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother. Those of you in her family should know that nothing gave Mary more pleasure or had more of her attention than you. She followed your lives closely, worried over you, prayed for you and rejoiced with you. You were the center of her life. She loved you deeply. School, college, work and organizations brought friends into Mary's life as well and she worried about, prayed for and rejoiced with you, toо.
All of you who knew her, knew a genuinely kind, modest, cheerful person. Unlike some of us, she actually was exactly like she seemed to be, no airs, no acts. She was incapable of pretense. Few people could make her angry. Regrettably, I'm one of them, but even this undeserving husband was met each morning with her sweet, soft smile.
Over the last several years, she dealt with four rare, awful, intractable diseases. She faced them with limitless courage. She endured surgeries, infusions, drugs and endless needles, all the while offering her doctors and nurses her lovely smile. She was ready for it to be over.
Bill Jahn, Mary's grateful, heartbroken husband.
