Marlene was born on May 5, 1937 in Carroll, IA, and she was the daughter of Walter and Hilda (Hein) Heuton.  Affectionately known to most as Marty, she grew up on her family’s farm northwest of Glidden and graduated from Glidden-Ralston High School in 1955.  She was married to Jack Neubauer on August 14, 1955 at St. John Lutheran Church in Glidden by Pastor Gundel.  The couple lived in many locations with Jack’s career in construction before moving to Ralston in 1957 where they raised their seven children.  Marty was a lifelong member of St. John Lutheran Church, and her grandfather, Henry Heuton, was a founding member of the church.  She was baptized on May 23, 1937 and confirmed in the Lutheran faith on October 7, 1951. Marty held several offices in the church throughout the years and served on many boards and committees.  She was an avid writer.  She wrote three books and she had several poems published.  She loved family time, camping, baking, reading, traveling, painting, and attending her grandchildren’s activities.

Marty is survived by her husband Jack of Glidden, IA; four daughters: Kandy Fay (Pat) of Glidden; Tonya Bock (Steve) of Ames, IA, Rhonda Conner (Matt) of rural Glidden, and Robin Olberding (Jason) of Glidden; two sons: Dan Neubauer of Seattle, WA, and Lonnie Neubauer of Grimes, IA; fifteen grandchildren; thirteen great-grandchildren; her in-laws: Dick Neubauer (Linda) of Lineville, IA, Betty Stinson of Iowa Falls, IA, and Pat Palmer of La Porte City, IA; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family members.

Marty was preceded in death by her parents Walter and Hilda Heuton; father-in-law Fred and Stella Neubauer; a daughter Lori Neubauer; and a brother Dale Heuton (Margie).
