Marjorie Mae Janssen

Marjorie Mae Janssen, age 74, of Glidden passed away on Sunday, June 21, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Born on January 19, 1935 at Carroll, Iowa, she was the daughter of Orrin and Cecilia (Feller) Buddin. She grew up in Carroll and graduated from St. Angela’s Academy in 1953. She was married to Patrick Henry Haukap on August 16, 1955 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. She was later married to Ronald Carl Janssen in 1975. In her spare time she enjoyed fishing, bowling, her grandchildren, and going to the lake. Surviving are a son Paul Haukap and his wife Sally of Phoenix, Arizona; a son Bill Haukap and his wife Londa of Lake View, Iowa; a daughter Pat Dobson and her husband Dan of New Franklin, Missouri; a son Jim Haukap and his wife Elena of Colorado Springs, Colorado; a daughter Rose Railsback and her husband Joe of Carroll, Iowa; ten grandchildren; five great grandchildren; the following step-children: Randy Janssen of Glidden, Iowa, Diane Krammer of Kissimmee, Florida, Kevin Janssen of Glidden, Iowa, Tracy Janssen of Platte City, Missouri, Kenny Janssen of Kissimmee, Florida, and Kelly Janssen of Davenport, Florida; a sister Barbara “Patty” Dilliner of Audubon, Iowa; a brother Everett “Butch” Buddin and his wife Mary of Texas; a sister Georgene Buddin of Carroll; a sister Karen “Kay” Broich and her husband Duane of Carroll; a brother Roger Buddin and his wife Wanda of Texas; a brother Russell Buddin and his wife Deann of Palmer, Iowa; a sister-in-law Barbara Nell Buddin; a brother-in-law Donny Janssen and his wife Edna of Carroll; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, a brother Larry Buddin, her husband Pat Haukap, her husband Ron Janssen, and a step son Danny Janssen. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Rev. Dr. Michael Fitzsimmons officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home from 9:30 A.M. on Thursday until the time of service. Casket bearers will be Michael Railsback, Tom Haukap, Kreg Haukap, and Adam Haukap. Honorary casket bearers are Ross Dobson and Tony Haukap. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.
