Marilyn Kay Haeberlein, age 72, of Scranton, Iowa, passed away on Monday, December 05, 2011 at Regency Park Nursing Home in Carroll, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at the Scranton United Methodist Church with Rev. Charles Thompson officiating. Organist for the service will be Lula Garnes. Congregational hymns will be “Amazing Grace” and “How Great Thou Art”. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton on Wednesday evening from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Thursday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Casket bearers will be Jay Becker, Craig Becker, Dennis Becker, Rod Wolf, Dwayne Becker, and Phil Creese. Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery. Born on January 3, 1939 at Panora, Iowa, she was the daughter of Lawrence and Edith (Mobley) Wolf. She grew up in Bayard on her family’s farm and graduated from Bayard High School. She was married to Darrell Haeberlein on Setember 21, 1963 at Cornwith, Mississippi. The couple farmed the Haeberlein farm south west of Scranton where they raised their son Douglas. Marilyn has worked the Carroll Wal-Mart for 17 years. She was a member of the Methodist Church. She was always there for her family and friends to help in any way she could. Marilyn is survived by her son Douglas Haeberlein and his wife Kellie of Tampa, Florida; two sisters: Margaret Hammontree and her husband George of Cape Fair, Missouri and Pat Quisenberry and her husband Bud of Seymour, Missouri; one brother Terry Wolf and his wife Barb of Waukee, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
