Margaret Ann Jensen

Margaret Ann Jensen, age 85, passed away on Monday, January 19, 2009 at the Carroll Health Center. Born on July 13, 1923 at Breda, Iowa, she was the daughter of Joseph and Grace (Beckman) Meinen. She grew up in Carroll where she graduated from Carroll High School. She was married to Harold Jensen on December 7, 1943 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Carroll. She worked for Mid-States Financial which later became Norwest Financial as a collections officer. Margaret and Harold enjoyed their many trips to Hawaii. They also enjoyed driving cars back to Carroll from auto auctions for local car dealers. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. Surviving are three grandchildren: Jimmie Jensen and his fiancé Darlis Shelp of Carroll, Jodi Lhotka and her husband Jason of Carroll, and Joshua Jensen and his fiancé Aarin Diehm of Russell, Iowa; and four great grandchildren: Amber Lhotka, Megan Lhotka, Jessica Jensen, and Randie Jensen. Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Harold, her son Randy, and her sister Phyllis Wells. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, January 22, 2009 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll with Rev. Timothy Schott as Celebrant. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 2:30 P.M. on Wednesday where there will be a Rosary held at 3:00 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service held at 6:30 P.M. by the parish. Lector for the Mass will be Paul Milligan. Gift bearers will be Jane Nepple and Lori Wells. Casket bearers will be Marv Nepple, Bob Wells, Jim Jensen, Joshua Jensen, and Jason Lhotka. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
