Margaret L. Grimsman

Margaret LaVonne Grimsman, age 88, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Monday, April 09, 2012 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Born on September 18, 1923 at Ida Grove, Iowa, she was the daughter of Frank and Anna (Olsen) Hazlitt. She grew up in Ida Grove where she graduated from Ida Grove High School 1941. She was married to Travis Maxwell in 1948 and the couple later divorced. She was later married to Alvin Grimsman on May 30, 1961. Marge had several jobs in the Carroll area and was employed by the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home for many years. In her spare time she enjoyed gambling and taking trips to the casino, cross word puzzles, and spending time with her grandchildren. Marge is survived by her daughter Jacque Masching of Carroll; four grandchildren: Michael Linde and his wife Katie of Winterset, Iowa, and Carly, Abby, and Mara Masching of Carroll; four great grandchildren: Lucas, Jenna, and Maggie Linde, and Beckham Kohorst; and several nieces and nephews. Marge was preceded in death by parents, her husband Alvin in 1965, a daughter Catherine Linde and her husband Kevin. At Marge’s request private graveside services will be held at the Arcadia Cemetery.
