Margaret “Charlotte” Henrich, age 80, of Carroll passed away on Friday, October 28, 2016 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll surrounded by her family. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Johnson as Celebrant. Lectors for the Mass will be Greg Siemann and Diane Chojnowski. Music for the Mass will be by Barb McDermott and the Holy Spirit Choir with John Wagner as soloist. Gift Bearers will be Charlotte’s grandchildren: Kasey, Cooper, and Creighton Halbur, and Emily and Nick Venteicher. Eucharistic Minister will be Judy Feld. The St. Anthony Retired Nurses Association will form an honor guard at the Mass. Casket Bearers will be Charlotte’s nephews and cousins: Dirk Cavanaugh, Curt Cavanaugh, Paul Cavanaugh, Mike Brannon, Matthew Mullen, Greg Siemann and Jim Siemann. Burial will be in St. Joseph’s Cemetery near Lohrville. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 P.M. on Tuesday where there will be a Rosary at 4:30 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 P.M. The casket will be moved to Holy Spirit Catholic Church at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday where visitation will resume until the time of Mass. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Charlotte’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on April 20, 1936 at McVay Memorial Hospital in Lake City, IA, she was the daughter of Mark and Gertrude (Leonard) Cavanaugh. Charlotte’s mother passed away when she was two years old and she was raised by her father and her aunts, Anna Siemann, Susan Holden, and Margaret “Greta” Cavanaugh in Lohrville. She graduated from Lohrville High School in 1954 where she was homecoming queen. Charlotte went to Mt. Saint Scholistica Benedictine College in Atchison, KS. She then earned her nursing degree at the St. Anthony School of Nursing in Carroll and following that she attended Clark College in Dubuque where she earned her B.A. in Nursing. Charlotte was married to Robert W. “Heinie” Henrich on May 19, 1962 at St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Carroll by Bishop Greteman. Charlotte and Heinie made their home in Carroll where they raised their family on Court Street. She worked as a Registered Nurse at St. Anthony Regional Hospital for 46 years in many departments. She was a member of Holy Spirit Parish and she was very active in the St. Anthony Nurse’s Association. Charlotte had a zest for life and was dearly loved by her family and many good friends. She enjoyed shopping, going to the Rec Center, crossword puzzles, playing Bridge, talking on the telephone, and visiting with her many friends and relatives. Charlotte is survived by her husband Robert “Heinie” Henrich of Carroll; son William Henrich (Cathy) of Clive; four daughters: Susan Kanne (Todd) of Carroll, Joan (Scott) Hucka of Carroll, twins Beth Venteicher of Omaha and Amy (D.J.) Halbur of Halbur; eleven grandchildren: Christopher Irlbeck, Kelly Irlbeck, John Henrich, Kasey Halbur, Cooper Halbur, Creighton Halbur, Emily Venteicher, Nick Venteicher, T.J. Hucka, Tiffany (Austin) Herr, and Tanner Hucka; two great grandchildren Londyn and Paisley; a sister-in-law Bonnie Henrich of Iowa Falls; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Charlotte was preceded in death by her parents Mark and Gertrude Cavanaugh, her mother and father-in-law Harold and Mary Henrich, three sisters: Mary Agnes (James) Brannon, Helen (Ed) Donnelly, Susan Bernadine Black, three brothers: Jerome (Winnie) Cavanaugh, John William (Nancy) Cavanaugh, Dr. Joseph (Phyllis) Cavanaugh, and a brother-in-law Donald Henrich.
