Margaret Rose Brincks, age 99, of Carroll passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2010 at Regency Park Nursing Home in Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Johnson as Celebrant. Lector for the Mass will be Wendi Behrens and Gift Bearers will be Amy Markus, Rachel Jackson, and Andrea Wiederin. Eucharistic minister will be Mary Fitzsimmons. Music for the Mass will be by Holy Spirit Choir with Brab McDermott as organist. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:00 P.M. on Tuesday where there will be a Rosary at 3:30 P.M. by the Legion of Mary and a Christian Wake Service at 7:00 P.M. by Holy Spirit Parish. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Wednesday to lie in state until the time of service. Casket bearers will be Great Grandsons: Josh Niehaus, Matt Niehaus, Andy Niehaus, Tony Niehaus, Dan Niehaus, and Cory Wiederin. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Born on October 1, 1910 four miles south of Carroll, she was the daughter of Barney J. and Julia (Meischeid) Kennebeck. She grew up in the Roselle area and attended Roselle School as a girl. Margaret was married to Anton J. Brincks on January 26, 1931 at the home of her parents by Father Anthofer. She worked as a cook at Tony’s Restaurant for many years. She also had various other jobs over the years. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll and the Legion of Mary.
Surviving are a daughter Darlene Niehaus and her husband Bill Crane of Vail, Iowa; a son Jerome A. Brincks and his wife Lois of Bridgeman, Michigan; a son-in-law Darwin Schulte and his wife Kay of Urbandale, Iowa; eight grandchildren; twenty seven great grandchildren; and eleven great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1945, a daughter Joan Schulte, brothers: Joseph, William, Albert, Edward Kennebeck, sisters: Emma Kraus, Rose Gute, Rita Gute, Mary Masching, Matilda Hoffman, and Martha Hoffman; and a son-in-law Michael Niehaus.
