Marc Wesley Wilson

February 19, 1987 — October 4, 2007

Marc Wesley Wilson, age 20, of Des Moines, Iowa and formerly of Glidden died at the Ambassador of Omaha in Omaha, Nebraska on October 4, 2007. Marc was involved in an auto accident on September l4, 2005. The result of the accident left Marc paralyzed from the neck down. Since that time Marc has exhibited a tremendous attitude in overcoming what life had dealt him. All those that came into contact with him felt his strength and his personality has won over many hearts and will continue to do so. He was born on February 19,1987 at Offutt Air Force Base in Nebraska. He attended schools in Shelby, Iowa, and Avoca, Iowa where he was active in baseball, wrestling and soccer. The family moved to Glidden, Iowa in July of 2000 where he attended Glidden Ralston School. There he was active in chorus and choir. He was also active in FFA and Lutheran Youth Group. Marc graduated from Glidden Ralston in May of 2005. He then attended Hamilton College in Des Moines where he was enrolled in the Criminal Justice Program. Marc’s main love were outdoor activities including fishing, hunting and camping. His other love was playing for the Glidden Wildcats football and track teams. Surviving are his mother Sherry Fisher of Wittmann, Arizona, his father and step-mother Dave and Jan Wilson of Council Bluffs, Iowa, and their children Tanner, and Morgan; brothers: Scott and Ryan Wilson of Council Bluffs; a sister Dawn McCall and her special friend Jessie McFarland and nieces and nephews Torian and Brayton of Henderson, Iowa; the following aunts and uncles: Gary and Connie Frink of Emerson, Iowa, Barry Frink of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Pat and Karl Wilson of Omaha, Nebraska, and Terry and Annette Wilson of Shennandoah, Iowa, and their children; grandparents: Gordon and Ruth Frink of Henderson, Iowa, and Dave and Peggy Wilson of Council Bluffs, and many other relative and friends. Funeral Service will be at 10AM Saturday October 6, 2007 at Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden with Pastor Alan Miller officiating. Graveside service will be at 2PM Sat in the Emerson Cemetery at Emerson Iowa. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden after 5PM on Friday where there will be a prayer service at 7PM. The casket will be moved to the Church at 8AM on Saturday to lie in state until time of the service. A memorial fund in memory for Marc has been established and memorials may be left at the funeral Home or the church. Casket bearers will be Gary Frink, Barry Frink, Pat Wilson, Terry Wilson, Nick Wiederin and Jessie McFarland.
