Lynn Leo Soyer, age 55, of Glidden, Iowa, died at the St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll on July 13, 2009. He was born on June 3, 1954, at Carroll, Iowa, and was the son of Joseph and Elenore (Prebeck) Soyer. Lynn was a life-long farmer and had also worked for the E and F Custom Pumping at Templeton the last eight years. As a young boy he attended and graduated from the Glidden-Ralston School in 1972. He was a member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden and the FFA.
Surviving are his soul mate Teresa Schweers of Glidden, three children: Justin Soyer and his wife Crystal of Glidden, Jon Soyer of Glidden and Julia Soyer of Glidden. His mother Elenore Soyer of Glidden and his soul mate’s parents Merle and Rita Langenfeld of Carroll, Iowa. The following brothers and sisters: Norm Soyer and his wife Jane of Glidden, Larry Soyer and his wife Elaine of Glidden Iowa Judy Blessington of West Des Moines, Iowa Rosie Quinlin and he special friend Jim Spooner of Lakeland, Florida, Tom Soyer and his wife Shelly of Glidden and his twin sister Lynda Humlichek and her husband Tim of Ames, Iowa. He was preceded in death by his father and two sons Joey and Jessie and a cousin Mike Soyer.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM, Thursday, July 16, 2009, at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Glidden with Father Anthony Pick and Father Ed Tiedeman concelebrating Mass. Assisting will be Deacon Gary Schon. Friends may call at Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden after 2:30 PM on Wednesday where there will be a Rosary at 3PM and a Christian Wake Service at 7PM (The family requests that friends wear their Team Soyer T-shirts for the wake service). Interment will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery at Glidden, Iowa. A memorial fund has been established in memory of Lynn and memorials may be left at the funeral home or the church.
