Lyle Edward Dingman, age 79, of Davenport, IA, and formerly of Scranton, IA, passed away on Wednesday, May 20, 2026 at Mercy One Genesis Hospital in Davenport surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, May 26, 2026 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Rev. Ben Carter-Allen officiating. Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery.
Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden from 9:30 A.M. – 10:15 A.M. on Tuesday prior to the service.

Lyle was born on January 6, 1947 in Boone, IA. He was the son of Robert Arden and Vera Mae (Bennett) Dingman. He grew up in Scranton where he graduated from Scranton Consolidated Schools. Lyle enlisted in the United States Air Force following high school and was stationed in Wichita, KS. Following his honorable discharge, he returned to Kansas and was married to Carol Miller (Pagels) in 1969. To this union three children were born: Robert, Johnathan, and Katherine. Lyle worked for Jet Services in Wichita. He later took a full-time position with the Kansas Air National guard as a Aerospace Ground Equipment technician and retired from the military in 2002. Lyle was later married to Joan Madden. Joan passed away in 2020. Lyle moved to Glidden in 2021 to be near his siblings. He was a member of the United Methodist Church all his life. He enjoyed gardening and flowers along with playing chess.
Lyle is survived by his children: Robert Dingman of Homestead, FL, Johnathan Dingman of Mulvane, KS, and Katherine Dingman of Davenport, his seven grandchildren: Robert David, Alexander, Brian, Jacob, Emily, Augustus 'Gus' & Titus Griffith; and, three sisters: Marilyn Dingman of Glidden, Sharon Hall (Roger) of Davenport, and Debbie Wright (Lance) of Glidden; and several nieces and nephews.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Joan, granddaughter Angelique DaLee; three brothers: Dick, Don, and his twin Larry; and two sisters: Wanda Stephenson and Elaine Dingman.
