Lowell Johnson

A prayer service for Lowell Howard Johnson, 60, of rural Glidden, will be 7 p.m. Friday, May 14, 2010, at St. John Lutheran Church in Carroll. Pastor David Bergstrom will officiate. Mr. Johnson died Sunday, May 9, 2010, at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to the time of the service Friday, May 14, at the church. Burial will be at a later date at the convenience of the family. Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral of is in charge of the arrangements. Organist for the service will be Jan Potthoff. A son of Raymond and Anna (Christiansen) Johnson, he was born Sept. 30, 1949, at DeSmet, S.D. He attended and graduated from DeSmet High School in 1968, the attended and graduated from South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D. with a degree in journalism. On Sept. 28, 1974, he married Terry Ann Christman at Brookings, S.D. Mr. Johnson worked for Paul and Wayne’s Service Station from 1974 until 1987, when he started his own automotive repair business. He enjoyed gardening, fishing and going to flea markets. Survivors include his wife, Terry of rural Glidden; two sons: Corey Johnson of Ames and Chris Johnson and wife Cedar of Ames; a grandson, Lewis Johnson; two brothers: Richard Johnson of West Jordan, Utah and Merlin Johnson of Brentwood, Calif. Mr. Johnson was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Rosemary Johnson.
