Louetta M. King, age 90, of Carroll passed away on Saturday, November 17, 2018 at her home near Carroll.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, November 24, 2018 at St. John Paul II Parish – St. Lawrence Church in Carroll with Fr. Kevin Richter as Celebrant. Music for the Mass will be by Kate Cuddy and the St. Lawrence choir. Gift bearers will be Brian and Samantha Kirk. Lector and Eucharistic Minister for the Mass will be Phil Phillips. Casket bearers will be Albert Wolfe, Lucas Wolfe, Craig Wiederin, Art Free, Jeff Wenck, and Dan Wenck. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.
Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home after 4:00 P.M. on Friday where there will be a Rosary at 5:00 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 P.M. The casket will be moved to the church at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday where visitation will resume until the time of Mass. Born on December 9, 1927 in Carroll, IA, and she was the daughter of Albert and Margaret (Riesberg) Wiederin. Louetta has lived her entire life on her family’s farm north of Carroll. She attended Carroll High School and continued to work the farm. She was married to Roy King in the late 50’s and to this union three sons were born, Albert, Edward, and Patrick. Louetta inherited her father’s cattle herd which she maintained until her death. She was a member of St. Lawrence Parish. Louetta was also a member of the Iowa Cattlemen’s Association and Farm Bureau. Farming was her life and she worked right up to the hour of her death. She raised a large garden every year and took great pride in the vegetables she grew.
Louetta is survived by her son Patrick King of Glidden; five grandchildren: Albert, Lucas, Toni, Michael, Maria, and Maurecia; two great grandchildren: Lincoln and Brynlee; and a step-son Brian Kirk. Louetta was preceded in death by her parents and her two sons, Albert and Edward.
