Lori Christoffersen, age 56 of Carroll passed away peacefully on Friday, March 1, 2019 at her home in Carroll.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 at Central Christian Church in Carroll with Pastor Ryan Gallegos officiating.  Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll from 5 – 7 P.M. on Tuesday evening. Visitation will resume at Central Christian Church at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday until the time of service. Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery in Templeton. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com

Lori was born on February 10, 1963 in Carroll, IA, and was the daughter of Louis and Marian (Klocke) Grossman. She grew up in Carroll and graduated in 1981 at Metro East High School in Cedar Rapids, IA. Following high school, Lori was married and to this union were born two children. Lori devoted most of her life to her children, while raising them as a single mother, she raised them to be as independent as she was.

She moved back to Carroll in 1991 and attended school at DMACC. She began working for the Domestic Abuse Prevention Center as an Agency Coordinator where she worked for 13 years. She then worked for Plains Area Mental Health as an Outreach Worker, helping those with mental illnesses maintain their independence. She spent all of her working life helping as many people as she could.  Lori enjoyed playing cards, bird watching, walking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Lori is survived by her son Jacob Christoffersen (Sarah) of Omaha; her daughter Rachel Dopheide (Cory) of Templeton; four grandchildren: Liam Dopheide, Greyson Dopheide, Finley Christoffersen, and Oliver Christoffersen; and her mother-in-law Mardell Christoffersen of Audubon; five sisters: LouAnn Mowrey (Ronnie) of Carroll, Mary “Mickey” Snyder (Barry) of Glidden, Joan Halbur (Roger) of Carroll, Joyce “Fred” Wittrock (Jim) of Carroll, and Betty Appleby (Mark) of North Fort Meyers, FL; five brothers: Gary Grossman (Shirley) of Wheaton, IL, Mark Grossman (Lynne) of Waukee, John Grossman (Joan) of Carroll, Joe Grossman (Sue) of Albert Lea, MN, Mike Grossman (Barb) of Des Moines, and brother-in-law Jim Bayliss; also many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and loved ones.

Lori was preceded in death by her parents Louis and Marian Grossman, her sister Donna Bayliss, father-in-law Bob Christoffersen; and a grandson Jasper Dopheide.
