Lorretta Jean Mohr, age 75, of Carroll passed away on Saturday, December 19, 2009 at her home in Carroll. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, December 23, 2009 at the United Methodist Church in Carroll with Rev. Ken Ferguson officiating. Organist for the service will be Mrs. Ellen Severin and soloist will be Michelle Caltrider. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Wednesday to lie in state until the time of service. Friends may call at the Dahn & Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Tuesday where there will be a prayer service held at 7:00 P.M.. Casket bearers will be Daniel Peters, Jake Peters, Joel Beherns, Nathan Peters, Billy Pryor, and Scott Wempe. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Born on May 2, 1934 at Lanesboro, Iowa, she was the daughter of Roy and Mabel (Rabb) Peters. She grew up in Lanesboro where she attended country school. Over the years she worked at Garst and Thomas Seed Corn Company in Coon Rapids, the Casino Café, Boomsmas Egg Plant, and Foley Nursing Home. She was affiliated with the Methodist church. In her spare time Loretta enjoyed playing Bingo, watching the Chicago Cubs and the Bulls on television, scratch tickets and pull tabs, and spending time with her grandchildren. Surviving are her husband Harold Lee Cumston of Carroll; a son Donald Peters and his wife Pat of Carroll; a son Randy Peters and his wife Kelley of Ankeny; a son Robert Mohr of Carroll; a daughter Donna Johnson and her husband Roy of Carroll; a son Richard Mohr and his special friend Michelle Steinkamp of Carroll; a daughter Rhonda Hess and her husband Rick of Columbia, Missouri; a daughter Debra Mohr of Carroll; 17 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a sister Dorothy Thede and her husband Harold of Deloit, Iowa; and a brother-in-law Leonard Cumston of Pittman, New Jersey. Lorretta was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Debra Rolfs, and a granddaughter Ashley Mohr.
