Loretta Marie Kuebler, age 100, of Lidderdale, IA, passed away on Thursday, April 8, 2021 at Swan Place in Carroll.
A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 14, 2021 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll with Rev. Phill Robbins of Sun City West, AZ officiating. Casket bearers will be Loretta’s grandchildren. Burial will be in the Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery near Lidderdale.
Public visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll on Tuesday, April 13, 2021 from 5 – 7 P.M. where there will be a prayer service held at 6:30 P.M. with Chaplain Brian Danner of Kindred Hospice officiating.
Those in attendance at Loretta’s service are asked to abide by Covid-19 guidelines and facemasks are required at the funeral home.

Loretta was born on March 15, 1921 on her family’s farm northwest of Lidderdale and was the daughter of Albert and Elsie (Kohnke) Wenck. She grew up on the farm and attended Immanuel Lutheran School in Lidderdale. She was baptized by Pastor Schmidt and confirmed in the Lutheran faith by Pastor Hermann at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale. Loretta was married to Carl Kuebler on January 31, 1943 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale by Pastor Hermann. Carl served in the United States Air Force and the couple lived in several locations before he was deployed to the Pacific Islands. Loretta moved back to Carroll and worked for several restaurants. Upon Carl’s return, the couple made their home in the Lidderdale area. Loretta was a lifelong member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lidderdale where she served for many years as the church custodian and was active with LWML, Ladies Aid, church choir, altar guild, and taught Sunday School and vacation Bible school, and she served as an officer for Aid Association for Lutherans. Loretta served as the Lidderdale Post Master for nearly 30 years, she was on the town council, and spent many hours working on town beautification planting flower gardens. She was a 40 year member of the Carroll American Legion Auxiliary and she was a member of the National Association of Federal Retired Employees.
Loretta is survived by her two children: a son Eugene “Gene” Carl Kuebler (Ilene) of Surprise, Arizona; and Kathleen “Katie” Marie Daniel (Joe) of rural Lidderdale; five grandchildren: Brad Daniel (Jill), Lisa Sommerfeld (Jeromy), Tyler Daniel (Brianna), Paige Dewett (Martin), and April Warner (Rick); and nine great-grandchildren; a grandson-in-law Chris Gentry (Melissa) and their children; a brother-in-law Irwin Wiederien of Lidderdale.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1952, two brothers: Harold Wenck (Leata) and Albert Wenck (Shirley), and two sisters: Esther Breidert (Freddie) and Delores Wurr (Ivan), and a granddaughter Brenda Gentry and two great-granddaughters Elizabeth Sommerfeld and Evyn Gentry.
