Lois Ann Conrad, age 76, of Carroll passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2008 at Taylor House Hospice in DesMoines.
Born on August 10, 1931 at Lytton, Iowa, she was the daughter of Frank and LaVera (Strain) Jones. She grew up in Lytton and graduated from Lytton High School in 1948. She was married to Harold Conrad on September 19, 1954 at the First Presbyterian Church in Lytton. Lois and Harold moved to Carroll in 1954. She was employed at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll where she worked in the Physical Therapy Department for 25 years and retired in 1993. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Carroll and the UMW. Lois enjoyed gardening, shopping, dancing, attending her grandchildren’s school activities, and spending time with her family and her sister Alice.
Surviving are her husband Harold Conrad of Carroll; four daughters: Linda Bluml and her husband Tony of Carroll, Diane Sikkema and her husband Mike of Carroll, Janet Wilkins and her husband Denny of Westminster, Colorado, and Kim Goetzinger and her husband Brian of Ankeny, Iowa; a son Reg Conrad and his fiance Linda Friedrechsen on Ida Grove, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, and a sister Alice Walker of Rockwell City, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister Iris Hanson.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 19, 2008 at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll with Rev. Ken Ferguson officiating. Organist for the service will be Mrs. Ellen Severin. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 5:00 P.M. on Friday where there will be a prayer service held at 7:00 P.M. Casket bearers for the service will be Chad Bluml, Corey Bluml, Tyson Wilkins, Ryan Sikkema, Dylan Goetzinger, Noah Goetzinger, and Steve Klinkefus. Honorary casket bearers will be Heidi Griffin, Mackenzie Julich, Angela Owen, Chelsea Wilkins, Bailey Wilkins, and Taylor Goetzinger. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:30 A.M. on Saturday to lie in state until the time of service. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.
