Linda Ann Wampler Dunahoo, age 62, of Iowa City, Iowa, and formerly of Scranton passed away on Monday, December 19, 2011 at Mercy Hospital in Iowa City.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, December 23, 2011 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton with Rev. David Jones of Franklin, Tennessee officiating. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton. Organist for the service will be Cheryl Nailor. Casket bearers will be Robert Hoyt, Neil Follett, Kent Follett, Raymond Wampler, Andrew Williams, and Todd Versteegh. Burial will be in the Scranton Township Cemetery.
Born on January 26, 1949 at Jefferson, Iowa, she was the daughter of Lloyd and Eva (Gray) Wampler. She grew up in Scranton and graduated from Scranton High School in 1967. She was married to Tom Hilts on December 18, 1968 at the United Methodist Church in Scranton. The couple later divorced and she was remarried to Paul Dunahoo in 1994. Linda lived in Ames from 1970 -1988 and Iowa City 1988 until present where she worked at Hollywood Graphics as a graphic artist. Linda cherished the times she spent with her grandchildren and she enjoyed anything to do with art.
Surviving are her two daughters: Amelia Versteegh and her husband Todd of Oxford, Iowa, and Hilary Williams and her husband Andrew of Hills, Iowa; her mother Eva Wampler of Scranton, Iowa; four grandsons: Grant and Coulter Versteegh and Jordan and Ryan Williams; a sister Patricia Follett and her husband William of Union, Iowa; a sister-in-law Jane Wampler of Jefferson, Iowa; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Linda was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father Lloyd in 1988, and a brother Harold in 2006.
