Linda Turner

Linda Turner, age 71, of Glidden passed away on Saturday, September 27, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, October 3, 2014 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Pastor Rick Hamilton officiating. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden after 5:00 P.M. on Thursday where there will be a prayer service held at 7:00 P.M. Casket bearers will be Bob Griffiths, Ron Turner, Mike Lloyd and Glen Winker. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery in Glidden. Born on December 13, 1942 in Carroll she was the daughter of Leonard and Rebecca (Adams) Goodwin. She grew up on a farm south of Glidden and graduated with honors from Glidden High School in 1962. She worked for Green’s Grocery Store in Glidden and the Busy Bee Café. She also worked at Boomsma’s Egg Plant for ten years. She was married to Raymond LeRoy Turner on November 16, 1993 at the Glidden United Methodist Church. The couple made their home in Colorado Springs, CO until 2006 when they moved back to Glidden. Linda enjoyed raising dogs, flying in airplanes, fishing, cooking, and collecting dolls. Linda is survived by her husband LeRoy of Glidden; two brothers-in-law: Ron Turner and his wife Linda of Glidden and John Turner of Glidden; and two sisters-in-law: Margaret Griffiths of Des Moines and Jean Pottroff and her husband Donald of Glidden. She was preceded in death by her parents a brother Robert Goodwin at age 12.
