Levi Otis Friesen

July 20, 2018 ~ January 4, 2021

Levi Otis Friesen, age two, died in his sleep in the early morning of Monday, January 4, 2021.  Levi’s parents, Teresa (Bolas) and Corey Friesen, and sister, Santana Margaret, age three, are devastated by this shocking, sudden loss. Full of life, magical smiles, and joyful energy, it feels impossible to believe that our Little Levi Guy is not here.

Levi was born in Carroll, Iowa on July 20, 2018 to Teresa and Corey.  He enjoyed keeping up with his sister “Tana”, chasing and make believe, playing at the park, sweet and silly times with family, and sharing his heartwarming laugh. Levi loved giving hugs and kisses and being silly with Mommy, who has been working remotely from home most of 2020, allowing Levi frequent pop-ins to her office.  Levi loved hanging out as Daddy’s sidekick, and sweet bedtime routines with books, jokes, and cuddles with daddy, who had taken off work to stay home with Levi and Santana during the pandemic. Levi and Tana could be quite the comedic duo, often adding punch lines to each other’s stories, “cooking” with pots and pans, learning and giggling with new yoga poses, and getting creative with their dance moves.  Though the pandemic has been a hard time for the world, the “Friesen Four” have spent every day together, laughing, singing, dancing, reading, biking, adventuring, and loving. Levi, meaning “Bringer of Harmony”, brought love and connection to his family and friends, and precious joy to the world.

In addition to his immediate family, he is survived by his grandparents, John Bolas, Kay Friesen, and Stanley Friesen, aunts and uncles Emily and Seth Jones, Claire Friesen, Christine Bolas and Samir Raval, and Matthew Bolas, and cousin Sully Jones, all of Omaha.

He now meets his grandma Margaret (Cockson) Bolas, second cousin Laura Cockson, great uncle Kevin Graslie, great grandparents Lois and Ken Bolas, Loretta and Leo Cockson, Alvin and Lucille Graslie, Abraham Friesen, Emma (Friesen) and Bob Flory.

A public gathering of friends will be held in Carroll on Sunday, January 10 th from 1:00-3:00 p.m. at the South Shelter at Swan Lake State Park. Visitors may come and go as they please.  The family requests those in attendance abide by Covid-19 guidelines and wear facemasks.

Memorial will be held in Omaha on Friday, January 15 th at the Field Club of Omaha – 3615 Woolworth Ave.  Omaha, NE 68105 from 12:00-4:00 with services at 3:00 p.m.  Arrangements, including memorials, through Heafey Hoffmann Dworak and Cutler of Omaha: https://heafeyheafey.com .

The Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home of Carroll assisted the family with local arrangements.

Little Levi Quotes:

I’m not a Monkey, I’m two!

“That’s Not Right,” in a silly, gravely voice.

I want to get cozy!

Want to see something?

Come come *waving hand to follow him

Ohhhh, thank you!

I love you mommy! I love you daddy! I love you Tana! ‘Noculars!
