Leslie Jill Vonnahme

Leslie Jill Vonnahme, age 61, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2026 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll surrounded by her family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll conducted by Pastor Mike Salati, Sr.. Casket bearers will be Matt Jacobsen, Ron Jacobsen, Terry Jacobsen, Brandon Jacobsen, Molly Zang, Kara Jacobsen, Jenny Vonnahme, Andy Vonnahme, and Cameron Kunik. Honorary casket bearers will be her grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery in Carroll.

Family will greet friends on Wednesday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 P.M. with a Prayer Service held at 7:00 P.M. at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll. Visitation will resume on Thursday morning from 9:30 A.M. until 10:15 at the funeral home.

Leslie was born on January 11, 1965 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City, IA, and she was the daughter of Ronald and Lavon (Fredericksen) Jacobsen. She attended Harlan Community Schools in Harlan before transferring to Elk Horn High School graduating with the Class of 1984. After graduation, she attended Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg, IA, where she graduated with her Certified Nurse’s Aide License. She made her home in Kimballton, IA, and was employed at Salem Lutheran Homes in Elk Horn as a CNA for several years. On May 14, 2006 she was united in marriage to Richard Vonnahme at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Kimballton. They made their home in Carroll. She was a homemaker and helped babysit her grandchildren and the neighborhood children.

Leslie was a member of the Bethel Baptist Church in Carroll. She was an animal lover at heart and cherished her dog, Macy. She enjoyed going fishing, playing card games with three card rummy being a favorite and playing games on her phone and tablet. But most of all she loved spending time with her friends and family, especially her grandchildren.

Leslie is survived by her husband Richard “Rick” Vonnahme of Carroll; her step children: Andy Vonnahme (Tonya) of Arthur, IA, Jenny Vonnahme of Carroll; six grandchildren; step-son-in-law Garrett Bissen of Glidden, IA; brothers: Terry Jacobsen (Karlene) of Harlan, IA, Matt Jacobsen (Mindy) of Atlantic, IA, and Ron Jacobsen of Atlantic; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law: Robert Vonnahme (Rita) of Carroll, Marcy Patton of Carroll, Marilyn Miller of Fonda, IA, Ronald Vonnahme (Mary) of Carroll, Mary Hike (Kevin) of Lake City, IA, Marge Mumm (Todd) of Westside, IA, and Darlene Vonnahme of Wall Lake; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Leslie is preceded in death by her stepdaughter Kari Bissen; her parents, Ronald and Lavon Jacobsen and Don Clark; her parents-in-law, Martin and Juanita Vonnahme; brothers-in-law: Floyd Patton, and Randy Vonnahme; nephew Bradley Vonnahme, great-nephew Bently Jacobsen, great-niece Kenzlee Jacobsen.
