Leone "Toni" Geiger

Leone C. “Toni” Geiger, age 88, of Carroll and formerly of Coon Rapids passed away on Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at Methodist Hospital in Omaha. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 31, 2015 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Coon Rapids with Fr. Andrew Hoffman as Celebrant. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the Mass. An honor guard will be formed at the church by the St. Rose of Lima Catholic Daughters. Music for the Mass will be by the Annunciation Choir with Faye Seidl as organist. Lector for the Mass will be Deacon Louis Meiners. Burial will be in the Coon Rapids Cemetery. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids. Online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on July 23, 1927 in Wentzville, MO, she was the daughter of Aloysius and Kathryn (Trecker) Morman. She grew up in Coon Rapids and graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1944. She lived in Mandan, ND and worked for Gambles Department Store where she met her future husband. She was married to William C. Geiger on September 21, 1950 at Annunciation Church in Coon Rapids. The couple lived in Coon Rapids where Toni had several bookkeeping jobs including Annunciation Parish. She also did seasonal work for the Garst and Thomas Company. Toni was a member of Annunciation Parish and a long time member and officer of the Coon Rapids American Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing bingo, crocheting, crafts, and enjoying the company of her family and many good friends. Toni has made her home at Orchard View in Carroll since 2005. While living in Carroll she did volunteer work with R.S.V.P. and Regency Park Nursing Home. Toni is survived by two daughters: Rena Blocker and her husband Michael of Waterloo and Kathryn Geiger of Temperanceville, VA; a son Al “Jack” Geiger and his wife Nancy of Des Moines; three grandchildren: Adam Geiger of Gilbert, AZ, Brianna Blocker of Waterloo, and Jonathan Blocker of Waterloo; one great granddaughter Paisley Blocker; a sister-in-law Josephine Schuneman of Florida; a sister-in-law Audrey Morman of West Des Moines; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Toni was preceded in death by her parents, her husband William in 2003, and a grandson John Geiger in 1989.
