Lavonne "Bonnie" Dryden

Lavonne “Bonnie” Dryden, age 95, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA, surrounded by her family.

Funeral service will be held at 11 A.M. on Wednesday, August 10, 2022 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Pastor Ryan Roehrig officiating.  Organist for the service will be John Panning.  Casket bearers will be Bonnie’s family.  Burial will be in Summit Hill Cemetery in Pocahontas, IA.

Visitation will be held at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll from 10:00 – 10:45 A.M. on Wednesday prior to the service.

Bonnie was born on November 23, 1926 in Pioneer, IA, and she was the daughter of Carl and Bessie (Bollock) Powers.  She grew up in the Pocahontas area and was married to Harold Zeman in 1947.  The couple lived in Pocahontas before moving to Lidderdale where she worked part time at the elevator.  She was later remarried to Jack Dryden in 1969 and they lived in Carroll.  She was a very active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church where she served on the altar guild, on several boards, and enjoyed ushering.  Bonnie loved her dogs, feeding the birds, growing flowers, and going for walks.

Bonnie is survived by her sister Dorothy Schaeffer of Murfreesboro, TN and many nieces, nephews, and cousins including her best friend and caregiver Jackie Dryden and her husband Mike.

Bonnie was preceded in death by her parents Carl and Bessie Powers; her brothers Clyde and Clifford Powers; and her husband Jack Dryden.
