LaVern Arnold Keuck, age 94, of Denison, IA passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 18, 2026 at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids surrounded by his family.
LaVern was born on October 3, 1931 in Moville, IA, and was the son of Otto and Annie (Wieck) Keuck. He attended rural school near Moville and graduated from Moville High School in 1950. In 1952 he enlisted in the United States Army. During his tour of duty he served in Germany and was honorably discharged in 1954.
On December 27, 1953, he was united in marriage to Marilynn Mace at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moville. They moved to Omaha NE, and he attended Universal Trade School in Omaha. They were blessed with three children, Danny, William and Jane. They made their home in Denison in 1958 and he was employed at Crawford County Memorial Hospital. He later was employed at Wesley Acres in Atlantic until he retired. LaVern was a member of the American Legion Post #0008 in Denison. He enjoyed building model airplanes and loved refurbishing hit and miss small engines.
LaVern is survived by his children Bill Keuck (Cheri) of Urbandale, IA and Jane Munns (Alan) of Fort Collins, CO; and other beloved family members and friends.
LaVern is preceded in death by his wife Marilynn Mace; son Danny; his parents; 6 sisters; Gertrude Parkinson, Hattie Ledgerwood, Vesta Davis, Lydia Fischer, Velma Linerud, Doris Grasma, 2 brothers; Chris and Ray Keuck.
