Lawrence “Blu” Bluml, age 73, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away peacefully at his home on Monday, December 6, 2010.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be Celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, December 9, 2010 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Schott officiating. There will be no visitation at Larry’s request. Lector for the Mass will be Brea Steinkamp, gift bearers will be Larry’s daughters. Music will be by Marcy Anderson and Sherry Schulte. Burial will be Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Dick Wernimont, Dean Steinkamp, Craig Fricke, Gary Wiskus, Lynn Stork, and Lyle Stork. Born on July 5, 1937 at Carroll, Iowa, he was the son of Joseph and Frances (Wittrock) Bluml.
Surviving are his wife Faye of Carroll; five daughters: Marcie Wernimont and her husband Dick of Carroll, Tammy Bluml of Carroll, Dana Steinkamp and her husband Dean of Creston, Iowa, Beth Fricke and her husband Craig of Carroll, Amy Wiskus and her husband Gary of Dedham; three sons: Gregg Bluml of Bartow, Florida, Corey Bluml of Carroll, and Chad Bluml of Carroll; sixteen grandchildren; four brothers: Jerry Bluml of Manning, Elmer Bluml and his wife Bernice of Carroll, Glen Bluml and his wife Sharon of Hawarden, and Don Bluml and his wife Carol of Dubuque; four sisters: Ardella Irlbeck of Templeton, Ardeth Sturm and her husband Albert of Manning, Margaret Hinners of Manning, Charlene Stork of Glidden.
He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Delores Odendahl and Esther Rohe, and a brother James Bluml.
