Kenneth “Kenny” Wiskus, age 77, of Coon Rapids, IA, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2026 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll surrounded by his family.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, May 12, 2026 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Coon Rapids. Fr. Patrick Behm will be the Celebrant assisted by Deacon Louis Meiners. Lector for the Mass will be Don Hoffmann. Music for the Mass will be by the Annunciation Choir with Diane Slater as organist. Eucharistic Minister will be Doug Bass. Gift bearers will be Emma Studebaker, Kyla Wiskus, Ashley Wiskus, and Sara Wiskus. Casket bearers will be Shane Wiskus, Keagan Wiskus, Bryce Wiskus, Jeromie Wiskus, Dillon Studebaker, and Joesph Fagan. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery near Coon Rapids with military honors will be conducted by the Coon Rapids American Legion.
Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids from 5 – 7 P.M. on Monday where there will be a Rosary prayed at 7 P.M. The casket will be moved to Annunciation Church at 9:30 A.M. on Tuesday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M. prior to the Mass.

Kenny was born on August 20, 1948 at St. Anthony Hospital in Carroll and he was the son of Joe B. and Theresa (Bauer) Wiskus. He grew up on a farm near Dedham and attended Kuemper Catholic Schools graduating with the Class of 1966. In October of 1969, he enlisted in the United State Army. During his tour of duty, Kenny was stationed in Ft. Lewis, WA, and served in Vietnam. Kenny was trained as a Quartermaster with the rank of Spec 4 and was honorably discharged on November 12, 1970. He returned to Dedham where he purchased a dairy farm outside of Coon Rapids in 1972.
On November 29, 1975 he was united in marriage to Debbie Brannan. He continued to operate the dairy farm until 1982. Kenny then was employed for Garst Seed as a night watchman and later worked for Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids as a CNA for over 20 years retiring at the age of 65 years. Kenny loved working with animals, playing cards, and spending time with his kids and grandkids.
Kenny is survived by his wife Debbie Wiskus of 50 years; children: Jeromie Wiskus (Jamie), Deanna Fagan (William); Julie Studebaker (Michael); and Shane Wiskus (Yury); grandchildren: Keagan (fiancée Bri Beckman), Bryce, and Kyla Wiskus, Joesph Fagan, Dillon and Emma Studebaker, and James, Ashley and Sara Wiskus; sisters: Arlene Brincks, JoAnn Halbur (Roman), and Kate Miller; a brother-in-law John Brannan (Barbara), a sister-in-law Gay Wiskus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Kenny is preceded in death by his parents; his parents-in-law, Jerry and Delores Brannan; and his brothers and sisters: Arvilla Oxenford, Marvin Wiskus, Eugene Wiskus (Ruth), Jerome Wiskus (Judy), Laverne Wiskus, Theresa Martin (Jack), Arnold Wiskus (Phyllis), and Robert Wiskus.
