Kenneth "Kenny" Ray Stubbe

Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Stubbe, age 67, of Glidden, IA, passed away on Saturday, June 20, 2026 at Unity Point – Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines surrounded by his family.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, June 29, 2026 at Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden with Pastor Roger Carlisle officiating. Casket bearers will be Kenny’s grandsons: Brandan Best, Damian Best, Conner Marvin, Cooper Mavin, Christian Best, and brothers-in-law: Pat Hackett, John Gunderson and Mehrdad Attarsaheli. Honorary casket bearers will be Kenny’s little grandsons: Spencer Stubbe, Reed Stubbe, Alex Stubbe, and Rowen Tuel. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.

Visitation will be held at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden from 5 – 7 P.M. on Sunday, June 28, 2026. The casket will be moved to Peace Lutheran Church at 9:30 A.M. on Monday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M. prior to the service.

Kenny as he was affectionately known was born on December 2, 1958 in Sioux Falls, SD, and he was the son of Vern and Nina (Stevens) Stubbe. He grew up in Monroe, SD, until his family moved to Cleghorn, IA, when he was 9 years old. His family moved to Scranton when he was 17 years old and he graduated from Scranton Consolidated Schools in 1977. Following high school he worked as a farmhand for many years until going to work at West Central Cooperative which later became Landus retiring in 2024. Kenny was married to Carol Riesberg on September 19, 1981 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church. The couple lived their entire married life in Glidden. Kenny was an avid Farmall antique tractor collector participating in countless tractor rides over the years. He enjoyed gardening, camping, helping anyone with anything, visiting with friends and most of all spending time with his family.

Kenny is survived by his wife Carol of Glidden; his mother Nina Stubbe of Scranton; his children and their families: Nick Stubbe (Tamie Wetzel), Kim Best (Mike), Kayla Marvin (Jarred), J.J. Stubbe (Kelsey), and Cassidy Stubbe (fiancé Lance Mikkelsen); twelve grandchildren; two sisters: Charla Attarsaheli (Mehrdad) and Brenda Hackett (Pat); his in-laws: Sandy Riesberg, Judy Gunderson (John), Jeanette Liddicoat, and Kathy Venner; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Kenny was preceded in death by his father Vern Stubbe; his in-laws: Tony and Rose Riesberg; in-laws: Larry Riesberg, Dan Riesberg, Mary Graybill (Oscar), and Glenn Liddicoat.
