Kenneth Jon Baumhover, age 52, of Laurens, Iowa, and formerly of Glidden passed away on Monday, June 22, 2009 from injuries suffered in an auto accident near Baxter, Iowa.
Born on March 12, 1957 at Council Bluffs, Iowa, he was the son of Clarence and Dolores (Loneman) Baumhover. His family moved from Council Bluffs to Glidden when he was thirteen years old. He graduated from Glidden High School and went to work as a truck driver for Crouse Cartage Company. He was married to Chris Bushman on October 17, 1981 at Peace Lutheran Church in Glidden. The couple later divorced. In recent years he has worked as an independent truck driver. He enjoyed car races and being a truck driver.
Surviving are a son Kevin Baumhover and his girl friend Holly White of Marengo, Iowa; a daughter Stephanie Baumhover of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; a daughter Elizabeth Baumhover and her fiancé Adam Kempker of Iowa City, Iowa; his ex-wife Chris Bushman of Colfax, Iowa; a brother-in-law Romayne Blackley of Glidden; a brother-in-law Dick Simons of Glidden; a sister-in-law Ann Zacker of Carroll; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters Deanna Blackley and Marsha Simons, and a brother Jack Zacker.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday, June 26, 2009 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden with Father Ed Tiedeman officiating. Visitation will be held at the funeral home for one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemtery.
