Kenny was born on August 15, 1965 in Carroll, Iowa. He was the son of Ronald and Sandra (Tubbs) Janssen. He grew up in Glidden and graduated from the Glidden-Ralston High School in 1983. During high school and for the year following graduation, Kenny worked at Chuck's Auto Body in Glidden. He worked with his father for many years putting up grain bins in Iowa, and later followed his father to Florida where they continued in the construction of commercial buildings. Kenny enjoyed feeding the birds, a few cats, and other animals that approached his home. During the past couple of years he also enjoyed getting to know his neighbors and they all thought a lot of him. They appreciated each other's company as Kenny struggled with a long illness. Kenny enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brothers and friends. He was a NASCAR fan and enjoyed watching the races each weekend, even in the hospital he asked for the race to be on the television. He touched the lives of those who knew him. He loved his siblings, sister-in-law Pam, many nieces and nephews, and other relatives and friends. He was an excellent brother, uncle, and friend to us all.
Surviving are his siblings Randy Janssen and special friend Joann of Glidden, Diane Kramer and husband David of Poinciana, Florida, Kevin Janssen of Carroll, Tracy Janssen of Platte City, Missouri, Kelly Janssen of Kissimmee, Florida. He was preceded in death by his grandparents Carl and Bernice (Ward) Janssen, Dick and Effie Tubbs; his parents, Ronald Janssen and Sandra Janssen, a step-mother Marge Janssen, a special uncle Don (Red) Janssen, his brother Daniel Janssen, a niece in infancy, and a nephew Scott.
