Kenneth Frank Beckman

Kenneth Frank Beckman, age 82, of Carroll, IA, passed away at his home in Carroll on Wednesday, August 30, 2023.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Friday, September 8, 2023 at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll with Pastor Ryan Roehrig officiating. Music will be by Abe Batten. Casket bearers will be Andrew Karstens, Joseph Karstens, Jessica Karstens, Frank Venteicher, Cole Beckman and Gabriel Beckman. Honorary casket bearers will be Samantha Venteicher, Janelle Bless, Bailey Beckman and Kelly Beckman. Burial will be in the Carroll City Cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 5 – 7:00 P.M. on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll.

Memorials are preferred to the family for a later designation.

Kenneth was born on September 5, 1940 in Carroll, Iowa. He was the son of Frank and Helen (Wenck) Beckman. He attended rural school between Carroll and Lidderdale and later the Scranton High School and graduated from the Lake City High School. After graduation, he was employed as a farm hand in the Lake City area for a few years.

On February 25, 1962 he was united in marriage to Rosemary Allen at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. The couple made their home in Carroll and were blessed with five children. Kenneth was employed at Carroll Sand and Gravel for several years before working for Boyce Monumental in Carroll for a few years. He then worked for Agribolt in Carroll before becoming employed for Arcadia Limestone in Arcadia until he retired. During retirement he worked part-time for the City of Carroll helping mow the city cemetery.

Kenneth was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Carroll. He was an avid fisherman especially in his younger years and enjoyed doing word search puzzle books. In his spare time, Kenneth loved getting out to go on rural country drives. But most of all he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.

Kenneth is survived by his wife Rosemary Beckman of Carroll; children: Douglas (Gloria Gaye) Beckman of Carroll, Cynthia Hogan of Carroll, Mark (Karla) Beckman of Manchester, IA, and Deborah Venteicher of Carroll; daughter-in-law Rhonda Beckman of Milbank, SD; 10 grandchildren: Andrew Karstens, Joseph Karstens and significant other Kelsey Dentlinger, Jessica Karstens, Gabriel Beckman, Cole (Molly) Beckman, Janelle (Matthew) Bless, Bailey Beckman, Kelly Beckman, Franklin Venteicher, Samantha Venteicher and significant other Charles Wise; 10 great-grandchildren: Joanna and Josie Karstens, John Hodges, Logan and Olivia Karstens, Amelia, Kennedy and Easton Venteicher, and Faith and Colton Wise; brothers and sister: Darrell (Terri) Beckman of Carroll, Karen (Brad) Campagan of Omaha, NE, and Roger Beckman and significant other Jackie Becker of Carroll; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Kenneth is preceded in death by his son Timothy Beckman and his parents.
