Julie Ann Park, age 50, of Bayard, Iowa and formerly of Scranton died at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids, Iowa, on October 1, 2009.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 10:30 AM on Monday, October 5, 2009 at St. Paul Catholic Church in Scranton with Father Steven McLoud as celebrant. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Scranton from 2:00 to 5:00 P.M., Sunday where there will be a Christian Wake service at 4:00 P.M. by the parish. Lectors for Mass will be Ruth Naberhaus and Cleo Duff. Gift Bearers will be Julie’s sisters: Mary Jo, Terri, Kathy,Trish, and Jan. Mass server will be Becka Eslick and Eucharistic Minister will be Jan Morlan. Organist will be Richard Carey and soloist will be Rosemary Paulsen. Interment will be in the Holy Family Cemetery at Lidderdale, Iowa. Casket Bearers will be Alex Gettler, Cody Renwanz, Tony Park, Nick Halterman, Logan Johnston, and Zack Dettlinger.
She was born on May 15, 1959 at Carroll, Iowa, and was the daughter of Robert and Carol (West) Park. She grew up in the Scranton Community and attended and graduated from Scranton High School in 1977. She had worked at Sparky’s in Bayard for several years. In her spare time she enjoyed reading, T.V., puzzels, playing cards, watching the Hawkeyes and the cubs on TV. Julie was a member of St. Paul Catholic Church in Scranton. Surviving are her mother Carol Park of Scranton; a sister Mary Jo Halterman of Coon Rapids; a brother Andy Park of Barnum, Iowa; a brother Jon Park of Barnum, Iowa; a sister Terri Renwanz and her husband Bill of Jefferson, Iowa; a sister Kathy Geuss and her husband Eric of Harper Woods, Michigan; a sister Trish Monthei and her husband Mike of Panora, Iowa; a sister Jan Kirschman and her husband Rick of Ankeny, Iowa; several aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her father, two brothers: Steven and Michael and her grandparents: Jack and Pearl West and Carl and Ernestine Park.
