Julianna “Julie” Cale, age 66, of Carroll passed away on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 at St. Anthony Nursing Home in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, December 9, 2014 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Timothy Schott as Celebrant. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 4:00 P.M. on Monday where there will be a Rosary at 5:00 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:30 P.M. by St. Lawrence Parish. The casket will be moved to St. Lawrence Church at 8:30 A.M. on Tuesday where visitation will resume until the time of service. Gift Bearers will be Lindsey and Morgan Cale and Peyton Loneman. Music for the Mass will be by Kate Cuddy as pianist and Sheri Loughran as cantor. Casket bearers will be Derek Loneman, Colton Loneman, Logan Cale, Chris Reiling, Al Snyder, and Taylor Doggett. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden. Born on June 28, 1948 in Carroll, she was the daughter of John and Elvira (Reinart) Sporrer. Julie grew up in Carroll and her family moved to Glidden in 1964. She graduated from Glidden High School in 1966 and worked at Ocoma Foods for several years. She was married to Frank Cale on August 16, 1969 at Holy Family Catholic Church in Lidderdale. The couple made their home in Carroll where Julie was a homemaker and ran a home daycare for 30 years. She was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. Julie enjoyed being outdoors, going for walks, shopping, music and spending time with her family. Julie is survived by a daughter Sheila Loneman and her husband Don of Ankeny; two sons: Mike Cale and his wife Jodi of Lincoln, NE, and Scott Cale of Carroll; six grandchildren: Lindsey, Morgan, and Logan Cale all of Lincoln, NE, and Derek, Colton, and Peyton Loneman all of Ankeny; and two great grandchildren: Trenton and Braylon; a sister Geri Thobe and her husband Larry of Auburn; a brother-in-law Glenn Cale and his wife Karla of Carroll; sisters-in-laws: Mary Kirsch and her husband Norbert of Carroll, Joann Cale of Carroll, Dorothy Persell of Everett, WA and Kathy Sporrer of Glidden; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. Julie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Frank in 2005, two brothers: Paul and Romayne Sporrer, and a sister in infancy.
