Joyce Siepker

     Joyce Ann Siepker, age 71, of Overland Park, Kansas and formerly of Boone, passed away on Sunday, April 8, 2018 at her home in Overland Park.      A funeral mass will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, April 14, 2018 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll with Fr. Shinoj Jose as celebrant.  Music for the Mass will be by Kate Cutty as organist, Sherry Loughran as Cantor, and the St. Lawrence Choir.  Lector will be Duane Siepker.  Eucharistic minister will be Sister Janet Siepker.  Gift bearers will be Aric Kasperbauer, Jack Rogan, and Alexander Johnstone.  Burial will in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Carroll.      Visitation will be held at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday until the time of the Mass at St. Lawrence Catholic Church.  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and online condolences may be left for Joyce’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com.       Born on December 24, 1946 in Manilla, Joyce was the daughter of Orville and Janice (Epson) Auen.  She grew up on the family farm near Denison and graduated from Denison High School in 1965.  She was united in marriage to John Knudson at the Presbyterian Church in Denison in 1966.  To this union were born two children.  The couple later divorced and Joyce moved to Boone, Iowa, where she worked for the State of Iowa liquor control department.  While living in Boone, Joyce met Ron Siepker.  They spent 15 years together, before being married on October 28, 1991 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Boone by Father Tom Geelan.  Joyce worked for Iowa State University as the office manager of the Treasure’s Office.  She retired from there in 2005.  Ron and Joyce moved to Roswell, New Mexico following their retirement.  After much encouragement from their children, Ron and Joyce moved to Overland Park, Kansas in March of 2017.  While living in Roswell, Joyce was very active in all activities at the Church of the Assumption.  She enjoyed collecting anything she could find at garage sales.  Joyce was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need and she never knew a stranger.      Joyce is survived by her husband, Ron Siepker of Overland Park, KS; two daughters: Andrea G. Rogan (John) of Lenexa, KS, and Alana Johnstone (Andy) of Mission, KS; three grandchildren: Aric Kasperbauer (Abby) of Oalthe, KS, John “Jack” Rogan, IV of Lenexa, KS and Alexander Johnstone of Mission, KS; one brother, Rollin Auen (Norma) of Kiron, Iowa; many brothers and sisters-in-law; and several nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents.
