Joseph David Posada, age 63, of Coon Rapids, IA, passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2020 at his home in Coon Rapids. A celebration of Joe’s life will be held at a later date when circumstances permit. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids and online condolences may be left for Joe’s family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on February 13, 1957 in Rock Island, IL, he was the son of Jose and Shirley (Hulett) Posada. He grew up in Rock Island, IL, where he graduated from high school in 1975. Following high school he worked for a cable company and played guitar in a band called Steamboat Willy. He was married to Michelle Cady on October 7, 1995 at All Saints Episcopal Church in Rock Island, IL. The couple lived in the Quad Cities and then Detroit for four years before moving to Coon Rapids in 1998. Joe worked for Panora Telecom from 1998 until 2008. Joe attended DMACC and earned a degree while working at Walmart in Carroll. He retired in 2019. Joe enjoyed playing guitar, building guitars, playing piano, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Joe loved to have a good laugh and he truly appreciated a delicious piece of apple pie. He was always learning and teaching himself new things especially music. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him. Joe is survived by his wife Michelle of Coon Rapids; daughter Heather Sylvanie (Terry) of Boulder City, NV, daughter Rachael Hayes (Nathan) of Rehoboth, MA, son Michael Posada (Katherine) of Thomasville, GA, daughter Elizabeth Lucht (Dan) of Coon Rapids, IA, son Bobby Perdan (Jessy) of Bozeman, MT; his in-laws: Larry and Sandie Cady of Coon Rapids; nine grandchildren; one great-grandson; and other extended family members and many good friends. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Jose Posada and Shirley Fox; and his brother John.
