Jolene "Jo" Irvin

Jolene “Jo” Irvin, age 67 of Belle Plaine, IA, formerly of Glidden, IA, passed away on Sunday, March 5, 2023, surrounded by her family.

Born on April 15, 1955, in Corona, CA, she was the daughter of Earl and Mary (Ridge) VanScoy. She graduated with the class of 1973 from Glidden-Ralston High School and graduated from CE School of Commerce in 1974. She was united in marriage to Mike Fisher in 1975. To this union were born two children: Jeremy M. and Brandy Jo E. They later divorced.

She was blessed to find the love of her life when she married Greg Irvin on April 14, 1995. They were married in a log cabin church in Branson, MO. When they were united; she was joined by two stepchildren: Cody R. and Lyndsay J.

She worked numerous jobs throughout her life but her most memorable employment was with Crouse Cartage Company (thanks Dad!). She loved to read, tending to her flower gardens (thanks Mom!), and counted-cross stitch. Spending time with family and friends were her most precious memories.

Jo is survived by her husband Greg; her children: son Jeremy (Traci) Fisher of Omaha, NE, daughter Brandy (Stacy) of Marion, IA, step-son Cody (Jessica) of Adel, IA and step-daughter Lyndsay (Tim) Bockman of Bedford, IA; her brothers Ron VanScoy, Bob VanScoy (Sue); sister in law Mary Ellen VanScoy, sister in law Linda Steeve (Allen), and brother in law Mike Irvin (Chris); her grandchildren: Jayden and Sadie Fisher, Clayton and Aliyah (Ali) Feldman, Addison and Charlotte Irvin, and Easton and Kipton Bockman. She is also survived by her nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

Jo is preceded in death by her parents, Greg’s parents, brother Rick VanScoy and nephew Brad Gottschalk.

Per their wishes, there will be no visitation or funeral services. Jo will be cremated and at Greg’s passing they will be placed in an urn made by Greg until they can be “Eternally Together”.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Essence of Life Hospice Center in Amana, IA.
