John Lee Fagan

John Lee Fagan, age 67, of Coon Rapids, Iowa, passed away on Monday, December 29, 2008 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Born on January 7, 1941 at Rural Glidden, Iowa he was the son of James Lee and Dorothy Leona (Hamm) Fagan. He grew up in Glidden and graduated from Glidden High School in 1960. He was employed by Ocoma Foods in Carroll, the Pin Oaks Restaurant in Carroll, Mr. D’s in Glidden, the New Hope Village Store in Glidden, and Swede’s Café in Glidden. He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids, the United Methodist Men of Coon Rapids, and Sunday School in Coon Rapids. John was the first “resident of the month” at Thomas Rest Haven in Coon Rapids where he has been living for the past 13 years. Surviving are a brother Larry Fagan of Omaha, Nebraska; a sister Sandra Ford and her husband Dennis of Jefferson; a sister Susan Billmeier and her husband Bob of Jefferson; a sister Georgia Bradley and her husband Norman of Jefferson; a sister Terrie Wilsey and her husband Jerry of Jefferson; a brother Tim Fagan and his wife Linda of Lanesboro; and a sister-in-law Betty Fagan of Carroll; many nieces and nephews; great nieces and nephews; his special friends Verlin and Glennis Breon of Glidden, and Jim and Sharon Seibert of Eagle Grove. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister-in-law Judy Fagan, and a brother Patrick Fagan. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. on Friday at the United Methodist Church in Coon Rapids with Rev. Lynn Gunderson officiating. Visitation will be held at the church from 12:00 P.M. on Friday until the time of service. Burial will be in the Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden. Organist for the service will be Lula Garnes. Casket bearers will be: Levi Dawson, Kenny Haubrich, Steve Dentlinger, Pastor Alan Miller, Rev. Duane O’Tool, and Jim Schwaller.
