Joanna Petricia Jones

Joanna Petricia Jones, age 81, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at her home surrounded by her family.

A Celebration of Joanna’s life will be held at a later date when circumstances permit.

Joanna was born on August 23, 1938 in Sunrise, WY, and was the daughter of Pete and Waunita (Bolich) Francescato.  She grew up in Wyoming and her family moved to South Dakota where she attended Deadwood High School.  Joanna was married to Edmund Jones on December 23, 1966 in Denver, CO.  The couple made their home in Denver where they raised their family.  Joanna worked for Rocky Mountain Orthodontics and made dental supplies.  She was proud of her American Indian heritage and attended many Pow Wows in Denver.  Jo and Ed moved to Carroll in December of 2017 to be near their family.  She was an avid collector of Avon, and she enjoyed ceramics, painting, and sewing.

Joanna is survived by her husband Edmund of 53 years; three sons: Bret Holman (Anne) of Lake City, IA, Duane Holman (Karla) of Jefferson, IA, and Scott Holman (Maggie) of Eagan, MN; seventeen grandchildren; many great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.  Joanna is also survived by other extended family members and many good friends.

Joanna was preceded in death by her father Pete Francescato; her mother Waunita Clark, her stepfather Basil; her son Jim; and her grandson Matthew Holman.
