Jerry Lyons, age 55, of Coon Rapids passed away at his residence on Saturday, February 10, 2018. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids with Rev. Brian Camara officiating. Casket bearers will be Lyle Olesen, David Davis, Joe Hofbauer, Michael Schulze, Christopher Lyons, and Chris Vogel. Honorary casket bearers will be Jerry’s nieces and nephews. Burial will be in the Union Township Cemetery near Coon Rapids . Visitation will be held from 5 – 7 P.M. on Wednesday evening at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids and online condolences may be left for the family at wwww.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on June 7, 1962 in Manning, Iowa, he was the son of James Sr. and Phyllis (Vaughan) Lyons. He grew up in Coon Rapids where he graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1981. Following high school, he began working in construction with his dad and brother until moving to Waseca, Minnesota where he also worked in construction for 10 years. Jerry then moved back to Coon Rapids where he worked in commercial hog production. He was married to Tina Olesen on August 15, 2015 in Carroll. Jerry and Tina owned and operated the Northside in Coon Rapids for the past few years. He enjoyed playing pool and pool league, fishing, playing softball, following sports, and spending time with his family and many good friends. Jerry is survived by his wife Tina of Coon Rapids; two stepsons: Derek Herron (Alison) of Guthrie Center and Brandon Herron (Mikayla) of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters: Terri Lyons of Keota, Iowa, and Jacque Lyons (Becky Law) of Glidden; his brother Jeff Lyons (David Levison) of Petaluma, CA; his mother and father-in-law Max and Karen Olesen; three brothers-in-law: Lyle Olesen (Trudy Hilsabeck) of Coon Rapids, Brian Olesen (Genie) of Granger, and Jerry Olesen of Coon Rapids; his nieces: McKenzie Vogel (Chris) of Coon Rapids, Jessica Platt (RickyJackson) of Rockwell City, and Brittney and Shelbi Petersen of Georgia; and two nephews: Chris Lyons (Kira) of Carroll and Michael Schulze (Lindsey) of Glidden. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Jimmy.
