Jeffery Scott Turner, age 42, of Glidden passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, November 12, 2009 at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Monday, November 16, 2009 at the First United Methodist Church in Glidden. Visitation will be held from 5 – 8 P.M. on Sunday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Glidden. The casket will be moved to the church at 8:00 A.M. on Monday to lie in state until the time of service. Casket bearers will be Tony Janssen, Butch Weber, Tom Weber, Chad Klocke, Mike Klocke, and Dan Seil. Burial will be in Merle Hay Memorial Cemetery near Glidden.
Born on November 7, 1967 at Carroll, Iowa, he was the son of Robert John and Jane (Stuhr) Turner. He grew up in Glidden and graduated from Glidden - Ralston High School in 1987. Jeff was employed by Scranton Manufacturing and he also worked with his Dad at Turner Repair in Glidden. In his spare time he enjoyed hunting, fishing, vehicles of all kinds, and doing creative metalworking.
Surviving are his parents John Turner of Glidden and Jane Ankrum and her husband Will of Washta, Iowa; two sons Michael Neville of Omaha, Nebraska, and Jaron Turner of Scranton, Iowa; a brother Johnny Turner and his girlfriend Christina Irwin of Bloomington, Minnesota; a sister Joni Halsema and her husband Jamie of Williamsport, Indiana; his maternal Grandmother Mildred Stuhr of Carroll; his paternal Grandmother Dorothy M. Miller of Carroll; three nieces: Jordan, Jaden, and Jayci; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, and many cherished friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather Amos Stuhr, his paternal grandfather Harold A. Turner, and his beloved uncle Don Stuhr.
