Jeffrey Neal Miller, age 64, of Altoona and formerly of Carroll passed away on Saturday, August 27, 2016 at his home in Altoona. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church in Carroll with Rev. Dennis Bailey officiating. Visitation will be held from 5 - 7 P.M. on Tuesday at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll and will resume at the First United Methodist Church on Wednesday at 9:30 A.M. Born on September 14, 1951 in Carroll, he was the son of Foster and Lois Jean (Pierson) Miller. Jeff grew up in Carroll and attended Carroll High School. Following his schooling, Jeff and Jane Olberding lived in Carroll where he worked as a roofer and they moved to Dallas, TX, in 1985 where he also did roofing work. Jeff and Jane moved to Kanawa in 2002 where he worked for Winnebago Industries and attended Worldwide College of Auctioneering. They moved to Altoona in 2014 where he worked for Tremco Industries as a service technician. Jeff retired on January 1, 2016. Jeff and Jane enjoy their booth at The Picker Knows in Des Moines. Jeff enjoyed making concrete statutes, hunting, fishing, selling at flea markets and auctions, and he loved his dog Bullet. Jeff is survived by Jane Olberding of Altoona; a daughter Maranda Turner of Des Moines; a son Justin Miller of Altoona; three grandchildren; three brothers: Chuck Miller (Pauline) of Des Moines, Scott Miller (Julie) of Norwalk, and Terry Miller of Perry. Jeff is also survived by Jane's family: Thom Olberding (Lola) of Jacksonville, FL, Steve Olberding (Karen) of Carroll, Cindy Boyd (Jerry) of Scranton, Mark Olberding (Cheryl) of Olethe, KS; several nieces and nephews, and many good friends. Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents: Charles and Lottie Miller and Merle Braford, Nettie Pierson Braford, and Louis Pierson, his parents: Foster Miller and Lois Jean Miller, Janes parents: Merle and Ruth Olberding, a sister Cherie Carlisle, Jane's brother Ken Olberding, his friend Rick Weitl, and his faithful dog Rocky.
