Jeanine Bowman

      Jeanine Bowman, age 56, of West Des Moines, and formerly of Coon Rapids, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, February 11, 2019 in Bondurant, IA.      Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Monday, February 18, 2019 at the Coon Rapids United Methodist Church with Rev. Joyce Webb officiating.  Casket bearers will be Kyle Blair,Kevin Walls, Ryan Bowman, Travis Bowman, Kendall Bowman, Zach Bowman, Jake Bowman, Chad Bowman, Jeff Bowman, Rob Bowman, and Scott Mowrey. Burial will be in the Union Township Cemetery.     Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids from 5 – 7 P.M. on Sunday evening.   The casket will be moved to the church at 9:30 A.M. on Monday where visitation will resume until 10:15 A.M..  Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com ​Born on April 10, 1962 in Coon Rapids, IA, she was the daughter of George and Marguerite (Bower) Bowman.  Jeanine grew up in Coon Rapids where she graduated from Coon Rapids High School in 1980. After graduation she attended Americana Beauty School in Des Moines and graduated in 1982. Jeanine raised two children Jenna and Scott in West Des Moines with their father Gregory Mowrey. She was employed as a hair stylist for the past 37 years at various salons in Des Moines, most recently Urban Style Salon. Jeanine enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren, gardening, knitting, shopping, riding her bike,and attending ISU Football Games. Her family and friends were what she cherished most, but she instantly welcomed everyone she met with open arms and treated them like part of the family. She also enjoyed making trips back to her hometown of Coon Rapids to spend time with her long-time friends and family; her heart was always in Coon Rapids. She was so full of life and everyone that met her loved her. She could always put a smile on your face and make you laugh. ​Jeanine is survived by her daughter Jenna (Mowrey) Blair and her husband Kyle Blair of Des Moines, IA; a son Scott Mowrey and his special friend Alli Adamowski, of  Waukee, IA; two grandchildren: Arianna and Liam Blair; two brothers: Gary Bowman and his wife Sharon of Coon Rapids, IA and Ron Bowman and his wife Nancy of Coon Rapids, IA; one sister: Annette Halbur and her husband Troy of West Des Moines, IA; her boyfriend Terrance McClairy of Bondurant, IA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. ​Jeanine was preceded in death by her parents George & Marguerite Bowman; and great nephew Carson Bowman.
