Janice Catherine Klocke, age 78, of Coon Rapids passed away on Saturday, August 22, 2015 at her home surrounded by her family following a brief courageous battle with cancer. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at Annunciation Catholic Church in Coon Rapids with Fr. Andrew Hoffman as Celebrant. Friends may call at the Dahn and Funeral Home in Coon Rapids after 3:30 P.M. on Tuesday where there will be a Rosary at 4:00 P.M. and a Christian wake service at 6:30 P.M. The casket will be moved to Annunciation Catholic Church at 9:00 A.M. on Wednesday where visitation will resume until the time of Mass. Lector for the Mass will be Nic Klocke. Gift bearers will be granddaughters: Jana Galbreath, Ashley Deeth, Heather Newcomb, Angie Jensen, Amanda Musfeldt, Danielle Klocke, Liz Klocke, and Carlie Hall. Eucharistic Ministers will be Dean and Gail Hopkins. Music for the Mass will be by the Annunciation Catholic Church Choir with Faye Seidl as organist and Mitchell Klocke as soloist. Casket bearers will be Janice’s Grandsons: Don Schoeppner, Josh Halbur, Jason Soyer, Caleb Hopkins, Jacob Koester, Adam Soyer, Bryce Deeth, Cole Hopkins, Mitchell Klocke, Tyler Soyer, Caylor Deeth, Andrew Klocke, and Todd Irlmeier. Burial will be in the Union Cemetery near Coon Rapids. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Coon Rapids and online condolences may be left for the family at www.dahnandwoodhouse.com Born on May 31, 1937 in Carroll, she was the daughter of Andrew and Leona (Daniel) Kirsch. She grew up in Roselle where she attended Holy Angels Catholic School. Following her schooling she did babysitting and housekeeping for several local families. She married LeRoy Klocke on June 22, 1957 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Roselle. The couple made their home near Audubon and Dedham before moving to Coon Rapids in 1984. Janice worked for the Bayard Care Center and Thomas Rest Haven for several years and did various other housekeeping jobs. She worked for the Galloway family for 35 years as their housekeeper. She was an active member of Annunciation Catholic Church in Coon Rapids. Janice enjoyed baking for her grandchildren and family and was especially known for her cinnamon rolls. She also liked to travel, take trips to the casino, play cards and Farkle, and attend her grandchildren’s sporting activities. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Janice is survived by five daughters: Denise Koester and her husband Jerry of Coon Rapids, Patricia Deeth and her husband Mike of Coon Rapids, Nadine Halbur and her husband Richard of Adel, Lori Soyer and her husband Mark of Carroll, and Gail Hopkins and her husband Dean of Ames; three sons: Michael Klocke and his wife JoAnn of Coon Rapids, Thomas Klocke and his wife Betty of Coon Rapids, and LeRoy Klocke Jr. and his wife Christina of Arcadia; 25 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; 1 great great granddaughter; two sisters: Mercedes Drees and her husband Lloyd of Carroll and Monica Nelesen and her husband Norman of Carroll; four brothers: Andrew Kirsch Jr. and his wife Mary Ann Carroll, Duane Kirsch and his wife Betty of Carroll, Joe Kirsch of Carroll, and Virgil Kirsch and his wife Peggy of Carroll; her in-laws: Jessie Fast and her husband Arnie of West Point, NE, Maxine McFarland of Omaha, NE, Helen Knobbe Johnson of Brea, California, Lorraine Gettler and her husband Bill of Mesa, AZ, Lambert Klocke and his wife Donna of Rockwell City, Jerry Klocke and his wife Betty of Carroll, Louise Costello of Vail, Ronald Klocke and his wife Joleen of Carroll, James Klocke and his wife Louann of Edgewood, WA, Larry Klocke and his wife Pat of Audubon, Sharon Wright and her husband Eldon of Scranton, Wayne Klocke and his wife Carol of Dedham, Donna Lowe and her husband Ken of Mulvane KS, Marlene Wille and her husband James of Lewisville, TX, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Janice was preceded in death by her parents, her husband LeRoy in 2008, a brother Art Kirsch, a sister Diane Ludwig, and a grandson Ryan.
