James Arvid Waldhoff

James Arvid Waldhoff, age 82, of Carroll, IA, passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2022 at Accura Healthcare of Carroll.

A private burial at sea will be held in accordance with the United States Navy at a later date.

James was born on June 21, 1940 at Duluth, MN and was the son of John and Dorothy (Kenyon) Waldhoff.  He grew up in Duluth and graduated from Central High School in 1957. He enlisted in the United States Navy following high school and served four years stationed in Long Beach, CA.  Upon his discharge he worked several jobs in Long Beach before his marriage on April 7, 1962 to Rose Britton.  James and Rose lived in Torrance until 1995 when they moved to Gilbert, AZ, where he drove truck for Genuine Parts Distributors.  Rose passed away in 2004 and James later moved to Pillager, MN.  He moved to Carroll in 2018 to be near his family.  He enjoyed fret work (making pictures out wood), yard work, and spending time with his family.

James is survived by his son John Waldhoff (Michelle) of Carroll; a granddaughter Alexa; grandson Brandon; a great-granddaughter Auriella; two sisters: Roberta Kephart (Walter) of Duluth, MN and Helen Kammerzell of San Antonio, TX; and several nieces and nephews.

James was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Rose in 2004.
