James Louis Loneman, age 75, of Carroll, Iowa, passed away on Monday, October 17, 2011 at St. Anthony Regional Hospital in Carroll. Mass of the Christian Burial will be at 1:00 P.M. on Saturday, October 22, 2011 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church in Carroll. Friends may call at the Dahn and Woodhouse Funeral Home in Carroll after 3:30 P.M. on Friday where there will be a rosary at 4:00 P.M. and a Christian Wake Service at 6:00 P.M. by St. Lawrence Parish. Lector for the Mass will be Sarah Loneman and gift bearers will be Lois and Whitey Loneman. Music for the Mass will be by the St. Lawrence Choir with Marcy Anderson as organist. Casket bearers will be Mason North, Adam Loneman, Matt Loneman, Tom Meisheid, Donald Loneman, and Bob North. Honorary casket bearers will be Megan Loneman, Morgan North, Sarah Loneman, and Jacob Loneman. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Carroll with military honors conducted by the Carroll American Legion. Born on June 6, 1936 at Carroll, Iowa, he was the son of Joseph and Francis (Griffin) Loneman. Jim grew up in Carroll and graduated from Carroll High School in 1954. Following high school he enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and was stationed in San Diego. He was married to Linda Meisheid on September 27, 1959 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Dedham. Following his military career he returned to Carroll and worked for Bernholtz Locker, Mobil Filling Station and Crouse Cartage for 22 years retiring in 1998. Jim was a member of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and the Carroll American Legion. Jim enjoyed playing cards with his friends and following the Chicago Cubs. Surviving are a daughter Lori North and her husband Bob of Ankeny, Iowa; two sons Bryan Loneman and his wife Andrea of Waverly, Nebraska, and Steve Loneman and his wife Debbie of Wake Forest, North Carolina; six grandchildren: Mason and Morgan North, Megan and Adam Loneman, and Sarah and Jacob Loneman; and one great granddaughter Brooklyn Loneman; two brothers Merlin “Teddy” Loneman of Carroll, and Ervin “Whitey” Loneman and his wife Lois of Carroll; a sister Lois Beymer and her husband Jim of Denison; a sister-in-law Iris (Loneman) Oswald of Omaha, Nebraska; a brother-in-law Tom Meisheid and his wife Nancy of Auroa, Colorado, and a sister-in-law Phyllis Friedman of Carroll. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife Linda in 1997, and three brothers: Robert “Windy”, Eugene “Johnny”, and Lawrence “Zeke” and sisters-in-law Judy Loneman and Dardy Loneman; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
